|GRAND Opening of Kookoo!
A Village Cafe Serving Healthy & Fun Food!
Located in Brookline Village right across from the Green Line, Kookoo is a fabulous addition to the neighborhood! All along this cool street dotted with funky shops sits a cute little post office, artist studios, the John Payne Music Studio, Dino's Pizza, a Good Yarn, HC Hair Salon, the Showplace Puppet Theatre, and Ali & Elie's other business, the Inner Space (yoga-karate-personal training-pilates-art-dance-capoeira) The one thing Station Street needed was a coffee shop, and now Kookoo has arrived, to save us all from Big Corporate Coffee... And we do have heavenly coffee - do you remember Coffee Connection? The owner, George Howell is roasting his coffee again and we've got his beans brewing and for sale! Mark Moradian of MEM Teas has searched the planet for the finest, and you must come and see why - taste his Jasmine Pearl tea and discover the magic.
The former incarnation of Kookoo was called King Tut, and owner George served Middle Eastern fare for over 15 years to his loyal following. A kind and humble man, he got burned out as all of us do, and so we (Ali and Elie) bought the business, but totally renovated the inside - you won't recognize it!
Ali spent his time (a labor of love) and transformed the space into a beautiful old world cafe with a twist. You can easily write a novel or spend your day dreaming in there (we'd like to)... but anyway, instead we're going to serve you Middle Eastern rollups, homemade soups, and homemade stuff from the oven - scones, muffins, brownies, cookies, cakes and all. We'll also carry IGGY'S breads and croissants, and you can pick up a loaf or baguette on your way home. We have speciality items such as chocolates, jams, honeys, biscuits and of course, coffee for sale.
So stop by soon to see us for our Grand Opening on Thursday, December 1st!!! We'll be open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm. Peace...
